Re: Abia Assembly Majority Leader Faces Recall Over Allegations of Corruption, Violent Conduct – A Dead Motion on Arrival

After an extensive investigation of the recall allegations of corruption and violent conduct made the Arochukwu Equity Forum, I have come to the conclusion that the group’s claims are politically motivated and, therefore, dead on arrival. These allegations appear to be a desperate attempt to tarnish the image of the Majority Leader, driven envy and jealousy from some unscrupulous political actors who failed to secure seats in the past election. The idea behind these allegations is rooted in frustration and irrelevance.
The allegations lack concrete evidence, transparency, and accountability, which are essential components of credible political criticism. Further investigation reveals that the group in question was formed in response to the Majority Leader’s high performance in legislative business, having, in a short period of time, sponsored 39 bills that have all been enacted into law, as seen below:

which the group had underestimated.
Meanwhile, Hon. Okoro Uchenna Kalu remains focused on his legislative duties, undeterred the recall shenanigans.
It’s worth noting that Hon. Okoro has brought numerous projects to Arochukwu Constituency under the leadership of Gov. Alex Chioma Otti. Some of these projects include:
1. Building of a Modern Market at Atan Abam Community, Ovukwu Ward, Arochukwu.
2. Water Borehole Project at Ahia Nkwo, Obinkita Community, Aro Ward 2.
3. Reconstruction of the Women Hall at Umuzomgbo, Ikwun Ward, Arochukwu LGA.
4. Solar Powered Borehole Project at Amaeke Abam, Ohafor Ward 2
5. Market Support Programme for Women in Arochukwu which has seen over 50 Women from Aro Ward 1, 2 and 3 receiving #50, 000 each.
6. Educational Support Programme. Over 220 Students from Arochukwu Constituency has benefited from our Free JAMB Registration for the year 2024 and 2025. Others have also been Awarded Scholarships Unubiko Foundation through our recommendation.
7. Distribution of Free Fertilizers to Farmers in Arochukwu Constituency to help boost food production.
8. Ozu Abam – Ndi Oji – Ndi Okereke – Arochukwu Road,
9. The Ohafia – Arochukwu Federal Road
10. Abam Ring Road (Ozu Abam – Ndi Oji, Ndi Agwu – Atan – Idima Road)
11. Construction of a Brand New Bridge at the popular Omenuko River.
12. Rehabilitation/ Retrofication of Primary Healthcare Centers across Arochukwu Constituency.
13. Abam General Hospital
14. Free Medical Treatment for our Constituents at Various Wards of Arochukwu State Constituency.
15. Solar Powered Borehole Project at Amaebem Ututu, Ututu Ward
But the so-called Arochukwu Equity Forum has failed to recognize all the projects Hon. Okoro has done and the ones he attracted to the constituency through the state government.
In their desperate attempt to remove him from office, the group was formed without proper registration with the Corporate Affairs Commission, which renders them unrecognized and their pursuits futile.
Since his inception of the office as the member representing the good people of Arochukwu State Constituency, Hon. Okoro has demonstrated commitment, transparency, equity, and accountability in his project delivery. The allegations of corruption against him are baseless and seem to be a mere propaganda attempt frustrated opposition to undermine his performance and tarnish his reputation.
Therefore, the perpetrators are advised to refrain from pursuing this recall, as it lacks credibility and tangible evidence and appears to be politically motivated. Hon. Okoro has a mandate to fulfill, and he cannot afford to be distracted some political jobber-men.
