NLC Calls Off Warning Strike, Enjoins Workers to Resume Work
The Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, has called off its 2-day warning strike on fuel subsidy removal saying that the warming strike has made ‘significant strides’ in achieving the goals set by the National Executive Council of the organization.
According to the statement made by the President, Comrade Joe Ajaero on Wednesday, enjoins workers to resume work on Thursday as the united message has been sent to the government.
“In his words, thanks to your resolute commitment, we have made significant strides in achieving the goals set during our National Executive Council (NEC) meeting, which prompted the initiation of this warning strike.
“It is abundantly clear that our united message has resonated loudly with the government, and it would take a truly inattentive ear not to hear it.
“As we mark the end of the two-day nationwide warning strike today, at the stroke of midnight, we earnestly call upon you all to gracefully conclude the strike and return to work tomorrow with our initial agreement.”

Recalled that the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) embarked on a warning strike over the refusal of the Federal government to engage and address the plight of Nigerians seriously. It also complained about the blatant viola-workers’ workers rights in various States including the Federal Capital Territory, FCT.
