I will Lead you to the right path – K.K. Ubani
It was a turn of table as Abam Onyerubi Youth Development Union Umuahia Branch observed a change of authority at their usual monthly meeting held on 15th September , 2024. The meeting which took place at De Crux Bar and Restaurants saw a new set of executives taking over power from the old excos.
The immediate past chairman, Pastor Okorukwu who spoke during the inauguration, admonished the incoming executives to emulate their counter parts in order old Bende development union and act above expectations. He promised them of his unalloyed support and guidance through out their tenure. According to him; “I am very optimistic that the new excos will lead the good way following the foot steps left behind.”
Continuing, the new president in his welcome speech thanked the house, the immediate past president, the electoral committee, and everyone for their immense support and embodiment. He promised to make sure he leads the way right. In his words; “I will not lead you people to where you’re not going, neither will I lead people who doesn’t know where they’re going. I will surely lead you to the right path,” he added.
Furthermore, Mr. Ikwani who admonished the newly elected excos reminded them that they are now like a waste bin where everyone comes to dump refuge; while encouraging them to be humble, respectful, diligent, resilient, and consistent in their duty, he advised that they should not look at whatever anyone will say to them whether good or bad.
More so, the newly elected excos expressed their heartfelt joy and appreciation to all and sundry for voting them in, promising that their confidence in them will not be vain.
Amongst the newly elected executives are:
1. Mr. Kalu Kalu Ubani – President
2. Mr. Ogbaegbe – Vice president
3. Mrs. Margaret Nnenna Kalu – Secretary
4. Mr. Goodluck Smart Okorie – PRO
5. Ngozi Jersey Joseph – Treasurer
6. Mr. Eke Orji Okorie – Provost
7. Kelechi Dike – Treasurer
8. Mba Nwankwo – Ex-officio, amongst others.
Finally, Hon. Isaac Imo Offor in his closing remarks showered his gratitude to the entire members of the Union for how they turned up for the meeting and election, noting that the Union is going to have a new class of touch, he pleaded for everyone’s support on the newly elected exco.
