HON. OKORO UCHENNA KALU HANDS OVER SOLAR POWERED BOREHOLE TO AMAEKE ABAM COMMUNITY.

In a significant gesture of goodwill and community development, Hon. Okoro Uchenna Kalu, the member representing the good people of Arochukwu and the Majority Leader of the 8th House of Assembly, Abia State, has officially handed over a modern solar-powered borehole to Amaeke Abam Community. This gesture, which underscores the lawmaker’s commitment to improving the lives of his constituents and providing sustainable solutions to their needs, serves as a testament to his relentless efforts in addressing the lingering water needs in the Amaeke Abam Community.

Speaking during the occasion, Hon. Okoro expressed his gratitude to the community for its support and belief in him. In his words: “I am so grateful for your unwavering support, and this is to fulfill a part of my campaign promises to you. This is just the beginning; more are coming. Last two weeks, we were here to flag off this project, and here we are today handing it over to you for your use. I’ll make sure that every need of Nde Amaeke is given a kind consideration, he said.” The project, which is targeted at addressing the women’s need for a water supply, has brought joy to the women and the community at large.

In response, Pastor Anthony Kalu Isong, the president general of Amaeke Abam Development Union, expressed his heartfelt joy to the lawmaker for not disappointing them on his promises, remarking on his tireless commitment to solving his constituents’ basic problems. According to him: “You people were afraid, asking if Hon. Uchenna has not come to promise and fall as other politicians did in the past, but I assured you that this government doesn’t make promises and fail. Today you have seen it yourself, so keep supporting him and you’ll keep seeing more of this kind of sophisticated projects,” he added.


Again, Hon. Abel, the councilor representing Ohafor Ward II in the Arochukwu Legislative Council, added that the administration of Gov. Alex Otti is not like the past government, whose projects were only seen and heard on televisions and radios, but in reality, there is nothing to show. So, let’s be careful not to go back to Egypt.
Consequently, Ichie Nwosu in his comment said that “God has given Abia a saviour in the person of Dr. Alex Otti and our illustrious son Hon. Uchenna Okoro. We thank you for all you’ve been doing for us and Arochukwu at large, we will always give our support to you.”

More so, the Chairman, Greater Ohafia Development Council, Engr. Obinna Odu, said that this gesture of Hon. Okoro has relieved the entire Amaeke Abam community the burden of sourcing water from the stream which is difficult and tiresome due to the hills on the road leading to the stream, he commend the lawmaker for bringing this project to fruition, adding that his council is committed to seeing that grass-root development reaches every part of the communities under his watch.
Continuing, the Mayor of Arochukwu L.G.A., Engr. Dr. Chibuike Eze Aru, who commissioned the project, said that Hon. Okoro is doing well and will continue doing well if allowed to continue. He urged the community to keep supporting the ruling party under the administration of Gov. Alex Chioma Otti (a.k.a Chioma Ndi Abia) as he expressed his gratitude to the Amaeke Abam community and Arochukwu L.G.A. at large.

In magnanimity of appreciation, the secretary, Abia Rise, Arochukwu Chapter, Hon. Orji Kalu Okorie, thanked the Governor of Abia State for doing the Ndi Oji-Ndi Okereke- Arochukwu road, saying that if not that the Governor has received chieftancy title from Abam already, a suitable one could have been “Omere uzo aro di nfe” based on the adage that “onweghi uzo a sa ga aro di nfe,” stating that “uzo aro adile nfe ugbu a,” our amiable Governor has changed the narrative. While thanking Hon. Uchenna for the project, he extended his joy to the people of Amaeke Abam, urging them to sustain what the lawmaker has done for them.
In conclusion, the President General of Abam Development Union bid farewell to the dignitaries who came with the lawmaker to commission the project and prayed for the Almighty to grant them a safe journey to their respective homes.
