Hon. Ikeogu Okpi Congratulates Iyom Abam on Successful 2025 First General Congress

Hon. Ikeogu Okpi, Councilor representing Ovukwu Ward, has congratulated the Iyom Abam Onyerubi on the success of their 2025 First General Congress. The event, which took place on August 13, 2025, attracted a multitude of dignitaries and was hailed as a resounding success.
The Congress, themed “Home Coming,” was held at Atan Abam Community Field, with notable personalities in attendance, including:
– Mrs. Priscilla Chidinma Otti, wife of the Abia State Governor
– Prof. Kenneth Kalu, Secretary to the State Government (SSG) of Abia State
– Hon. Uchenna Okoro, Majority Leader, Abia State House of Assembly and his wife
– Chief Jones Ike, Director-General of Abia Newspaper
– Dr. Chibuike Eze Aru, Mayor of Arochukwu LGA, and his wife
– Hon. Ngozi, Deputy Mayor of Arochukwu LGA
– Dr. Christopher Okoro, Rector of Ogbonnaya Onu Polytechnic, Aba
– Members of the Arochukwu Legislative Council, led Leader Hon. Kelvin Ile
– Top government functionaries, traditional rulers, and clergymen
In a statement, Hon. Okpi expressed his heartfelt appreciation to the leaders of Iyom Abam for their tireless efforts and dedication towards organizing the epoch-making event. He also prayed for God’s sustainable grace upon them.
Hon. Okpi further commended the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Kenneth Kalu, for his support, which put smiles on the faces of the Iyom Abam. He noted that the Secretary’s gesture would ensure that the Iyom Abam would be unified in their attire at future events.
The Councilor also praised the Majority Leader of the 8th Assembly, Hon. Uchenna Okoro, for empowering Abam women in their various businesses. He described Hon. Okoro’s leadership style as inclusive and equitable, ensuring that the people of Abam are not left behind.
He also expressed his gratitude to Her Excellency, Mrs. Priscilla Chidinma Otti, for honoring the Iyom Abam Onyerubi and supporting their cause. Hon. Okpi assured Her Excellency that the people of Abam would give His Excellency 100% votes in the 2027 elections.
