FG Begins payment of 77k to Corps Members
The Federal Government of Nigeria in fulfillment of their promised made six months ago has started the payment of N77,000 to NYSC members as their new monthly allowance.
This new development came following the concerns raised Ushie Rita Uguamaye, a corps member serving in Lagos State regarding the payment of 33,000 Naira allowance which is not sufficient for her, considering the current economic challenges in the country.
In response: The Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), BG. Olakunle Oluseye Nafiu said that payment of the new monthly allowance to corps members will begin in March 2025.
In his words: “With effect from March, you are going to receive the sum of Seventy-Seven Thousand Naira as your monthly allowance. NYSC is good at record-keeping and l can assure you that your money will be paid. The Nation and the Scheme appreciate you”
The promise has been has been fulfilled as corps members have started receiving the new monthly allowance of N77,000.
