Federal Fire Service and NSCDC Strengthen Partnership for National Safety
The Controller General of the Federal Fire Service (FFS), CGF Olumode Adeyemi Samuel, has expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) for their unwavering commitment to protecting critical national infrastructure and supporting the FFS with security escorts during fire operations.
During a recent courtesy visit to NSCDC’s headquarters in Abuja, CGF Olumode commended the Corps for providing armed protection to fire trucks and personnel during emergency responses. He emphasized the need for stronger collaboration between both agencies, highlighting the importance of synergy, cooperation, and capacity-building initiatives to enhance national emergency management. The CGF also requested continued security backup and joint training to improve field coordination.

The NSCDC’s proactive safety culture, including maintaining internal fire cover within its facilities, was praised the CGF, who expressed interest in tapping into the Corps’ expertise to advance shared goals. In response, NSCDC’s Commandant General, Prof. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, welcomed the CGF and his team, advising him to prioritize his personnel’s welfare, lead with emotional intelligence, and maintain a balance between “need and greed”.
Prof. Audi commended the FFS for promoting gender inclusion, describing it as a progressive step toward public service inclusivity. He assured the CGF of the NSCDC’s continued collaboration and armed security support for fire operations nationwide, emphasizing the “3C Principle” – Coordination, Cooperation, and Collaboration – as a framework for achieving national safety and operational efficiency.
