ABSU VC LAUDS GOVERNOR OTTI ON SECURITY INTERVENTIONS
The Vice-Chancellor, Abia State University Uturu, (ABSU) Distinguished Professor Onyemachi M. Ogbulu, has expressed gratitude to the Governor and Visitor to the University, His Excellency, Dr Alex C. Otti OFR, for his recent interventions in the area of security along Okigwe Uturu road and prompt release of monthly subvention to the University.
Speaking during the 265th Regular Senate meeting of the University, the Vice-Chancellor pointed out that since assumption of office, the Governor and Visitor to the University has provided support to the University to tackle the security challenges experienced for a while around the area.
The Vice-Chancellor added, that the Governor also promised to intervene in the repair of the Okigwe – Uturu road to Ihube junction, to complement the efforts of the University administration that had earlier undertaken the cutting down of the trees and clearing of bushes and other palliative repairs on the road to ease movement and visibility for commuters on the road.
It will be noticed lately that the security situation along the Okigwe – Uturu has greatly improved with the increased presence of the joint security forces along the routes, and normalcy restored within the University Community and environs.
The elated members of Senate were full of appreciation to the Governor and Visitor to the University, Dr Alex Otti OFR for the interventions and commended the Vice-Chancellor, Distinguished Professor Onyemachi M. Ogbulu for his unprecedented efforts to sustain the University in these challenging times.
