ABIA STATE POLYTECHNIC RENAMED AFTER DR OGBONNAYA ONU
In a bid to honour the first elected Governor of Abia State, Late Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu, Gov. Alex Otti has renamed Abia State Polytechnic, Aba after Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu.
This he said is to keep Dr Onu’s legacy and contribution to Abia State alive. He added that Dr Onu played a vital role in ensuring that the polytechnic was established in 1992 after he assumed office as the governor.
According to Gov. Otti, Dr Ogbonnaya Onu was a well respected senior statesman whose governance and democratic principles laid a strong foundation in Abia State.
Renaming the institution after his name is a befitting tribute to honor and retain his legacies in the sands of Abia, as he consoled the family and prayed that God will grant his soul eternal rest.
