Today being the anniversary of Gov. Otti’s one year in office marks one year of the redemption of Abia’s enslavement from the emperoritic rule, Over the years, Abia as a state suffered melancholy and desolation, after being subjected under the heinous rule of the PDP maladministration, the state was battered by the terror years of epidemic and Napoleonitic reign of the Cankerworms who dined and wined on our state resources, depriving our old aged parents of their gratuities and pensions, our children were denied quality education and welfare, our youths were left jobless and to the mercy of criminality, our business men were left with zero transport access resulting to the collapse of major access roads especially in Aba and Umuahia
Aba was left abandoned and in a shadow of its own self, Umuahia the state capital was left in ruins and the aftermath of a glorified village, it is regrettably lugubrious and a pitiable pissma dissma that our dear city Aba the economic hub of Africa and the most productive city in Nigeria was left in shamblęs of decrepit roads, major existing infrastructures like hospitals, schools, etc were left dilapidated and in disrepair
The Emergence of Gov. Otti after a landsliding victory gave a desiring hope to Abians, the remarkable 29th May 2023 which happened to be the day of Gov. Otti’s inauguration as the Governor of Abia State brought to Abia a beam of light, a ray of hope dawned on the Abia’s unproductive years that indeed the long desired change has come to be.
Today, we celebrate a clean Abia devoid of untidiness, refuses, sewages and wastes which use to be a signature of the past in Abia birthing mockery and taunting, Aba that used to be a smelly city is now in loggerheads with other cities on which to be rated the cleanest,Gov. Otti has given a facelift to our health institutions which have been retroffited and rehabilitated, Amachara hospital and ABSUTH is a clear example, lost accreditations have been revoked to our health institutions with enhanced facilities and sophisticated equipments made available for serious medical conditions
We celebrate good and regulated environment necessary for learning and Education, over 173 schools are being rehabilitated at the same time, some are already completed and awaiting commissioning, within one year of Gov. Otti’s administration, policies have been implemented to enhance the education sector with numerous interventions given, an example of it is the establishment of secondary schools and school buses for children with special needs including zero fee education which the Governor announced on the Children’s day celebration, retirement age of teachers have been increased from 60-65 years for increased learning experience
Abians are happy that we now have improved security other than what it used to be in the past, Umunneochi insecurity has been severely dealt with, the launch of operation crush a joint security taskforce initiated by Gov. Otti’s administration has proffered the best solution to tackling insecurity in all parts of the state
When it comes to Infrastructure, Gov. Otti is giving a facelift to our existing major infrastructures in the state, from rehabilitating over 80 roads in Abia,15 already delivered in Aba to remodeling our Government house building , secretariat and the various ministries and parastatals buildings, the JAAC building also commissioned today is a good example, Gov. Otti is rehabilitating and has rehabilitated major roads that have been unpassable for years, Portharcourt road, Obohia Road, Ohanku Road, etc other road infrastructures include the 64.7 km Umuahia-Uzuakoli-Ohafia road, the over 11 km of Nunya-Eluama road and the over 31km of Arochukwu-Ndi Okereke – Ozu Abam road which tends to provide access from rural areas to major roads creating easy access to farmers in transporting their goods from farm to the cities and reducing Rural to urban migrants with no exception of also boosting businesses in the areas
Under Gov. Otti’s administration, Abia state can now boast of the first ever 6 carriage lane , the ossah road which was commissioned today and renamed Aguiyi ironsi Boulevard, contracts of roads are being warded to notable companies with track records of delivering quality work within the appropriate time, over 150 buildings were demolished to expand and reconstruct the road, compensations were also paid adequately unlike in the past where people’s buildings are demolished without giving due compensation,with Ossah road compensation Gov. Otti has proven that is possible to compensate those whose buildings were affected during road reconstruction and yet deliver the road on time without flimsy excuses
The One year of Gov. Otti in office has restored the glory of the Abia of old, Abia is now used as an example of good governance both in Nigeria and Diaspora, unlike what it used to be in the past, investors are trooping into the state from different parts of the world, business men and women who scampered from Abia in the past for the sake of their businesses left at the verge of collapse are speedily returning to take a place in the New Abia hence the expeditious transformation of the state by Gov. Otti’s administration
Electricity that used to be a challenge in the past, Abia today can now boast of 24hrs electricity which the people of Aba are currently experiencing where negotiations are going on to extend it to Umuahia, Gov. Otti played a key role in ensuring that Geometric makes headway ranging from the part he played as a common citizen to the part he played as the Governor, today Abians are reaping the fruits of years of sacrifice
With this humongous transformational developments in Abia within just one year in office of Gov. Otti’s administration it is safe to say that Abians got it right this time, come 2027 Abians will reciprocate this great favor by voting massively for the continuance of the Gigantic strides of the best performing Governor
